Serving the Community and World

Not all activity and service happens within our church community. On any given day there are people within Mariners who are serving the needs of people on the Coastside and around the world. Most of the time this happens on a very informal and personal level because God places each of us in circumstances and relationships that are unique to each of us.

We do have some structured teams and ministry events from caring for elderly "shut-ins" to orphanages we sponsor in Russia and Mexico.
2020 Vision Team (partnering with Christ for the Cities International)
Russian Orphanage Trips and Sponsorship (through Children's Hope Chest)
Mexican Orphanage Trips and Sponsorship (through Rancho de Sus Niños)
2020 Vision Team:  We've found our "Village and Valley" in the outskirts of San Salvador, El Salvador. We will be taking the next ten years partnering with Christ for the Cities International to serve this part of the world.  We will be sponsoring trips and service opportunities where all the talents and skill sets God has placed in our church can be used.  Visit our 2020 Vision page

Russian Orphanage Team:  Each winter we take a team to an orphanage we have developed a relationship with in Zarechnyy, a village 5 hours south of Moscow. We go to present a camp experience for the children during their school term break. Contact Len if you are interested in going.

Mexico Orphanage Trip:  Our Breakout club takes a team of graduating 5th graders and one of their parents to Rancho de Sus Niños every June. To see the pictures from this year's trip visit our photo gallery.

City Impact: On many occasions we have served the community and provided Hot Meals, Groceries, and shared the spirit of Thanksgiving Blessing to all City Impact San Francisco. Visit the photo gallery to see where we, with other churches

* Served Over 3000 Hot Turkey Meals- helping the Shut Ins
* Gave Over 500 Bags of Groceries- provides to the low income families & seniors
* Visited over 40 buildings in our City

Rebuilding Together:  Our church participated with the national organization, Rebuilding Together, on a local project in Half Moon Bay April 25, 2009. We did some rehab on a Head Start facility by cleaning up rust on playground equipment and fencing, installing a new floor in the main rooms, installing gutters and a French Drain to deal with water flow, and some light touch up painting.  This was our second time partnering with RT and is something we look to do in the future.  Photo Gallery

Certainly Mariners is not limited to these listed ventures. There are regularly reoccurring activities like Adopt-a-Family, Operation Christmas Child, hosting blood drives, encouragement baskets, and more that happen throughout the year. If you would like to present a ministry idea or opportunity, or better yet, gather a team and lead one, just contact any of the pastoral staff for guidance on how to begin. Serving in places you have a passion or interest for and in ways God has gifted you are always the most satisfying and productive!
