Prayer Ministries

Prayer is the means by which we talk to God - to share our thanks and our requests.  C.S. Lewis said, "I don't pray because it changes God, but because it changes me."  In the act of praying we come to recognize that life is beyond our ability to direct and control.  Prayer is by its very nature, a trust and dependance on God.

Prayer is an important part of the life of Mariners.  There are two formally structured teams that you are invited to join.  Even if you do not join a team, we encourage you to make prayer a substantial element of your life in your personal time with God, in your growth groups, and with your families.

Sunday Morning Prayer Team:  Each Sunday at 7:30 am a team meets to pray specifically for the activities that will be taking place at our church that day.  If you are considering coming to Mariners, you will have been prayed for.  If you serve in one of the ministry teams that serve on the weekend, you will have been prayed for.  Drop in any Sunday morning to pray that God will lead all the activities of the day to bring people closer to Him in relationship and in lifestyle.

Tuesday Prayer Meeting:  During our weekend services, people turn in prayer requests on the Communication Cards.  These requests are prayed for every Tuesday morning by this team.  Drop in any Tuesday morning at 10:00 am in the church auditorium to participate.

Thursday Prayer Meeting:  This meeting serves the same purpose as the Tuesday Meeting, but instead meets every Thursday.  Drop in any Thursday at noon in the church auditorium to participate.

Sunday Prayer Meeting:  Each Sunday morning at 7:30 am join us to pray for the services that day, that God would become profoundly "real" to each person that attends the services.

Intercessor Team: The Intercessory Prayer Team is made up of people who have the spiritual gift of intercession and who feel called to consistently pray for the overall "big picture"  needs of the church and community. While we have an excellent team that prays for the needs of individuals, the Intercessor Prayer Team responds intuitively to situations in the church as well as takes prayer requests from the Lead Pastor regarding issues, challenges, and victories.
