Serving the Community and World
Not all activity and service happens within our church community. On any given day there are people within Mariners who are serving the needs of people on the Coastside and around the world. Most of the time this happens on a very informal and personal level because God places each of us in circumstances and relationships that are unique to each of us.
We do and have had some structured teams and ministry events from caring for elderly "shut-ins" to children we sponsor in Russia and El Salvador.
YOUR Neighborhood: Serving our community begins where you live. Neighbor well! Help support and organize efforts to increase care for each other, safety, and community building. Click to check out our ideas and resources.
Seaton Coastside Ministry: Take church to the elderly in a local rest home. Join others to present a 1 hour time of Christian music and Bible Study the first Sunday of every month at 3p to the residents at Seton Coastside in Moss Beach
On many occasions we serve the community and provided Hot Meals, Groceries, and shared the spirit of Thanksgiving Blessing to all City Impact San Francisco

Certainly Mariners is not limited to these listed ventures. There are regularly reoccurring activities like Adopt-a-Family, hosting blood drives, encouragement baskets, and more that happen throughout the year. If you would like to present a ministry idea or opportunity, or better yet, gather a team and lead one, just contact any of the pastoral staff for guidance on how to begin. Serving in places you have a passion or interest for and in ways God has gifted you are always the most satisfying and productive!
Persecuted Church: Christians the world over are being marginalized, persecuted and even martyred for nothing more than a faith in Jesus. We have a team in our church who desire to educate and inform our congregation of ways we help, hosts regular times of prayer and create special events.
Operation Christmas Child:
OCC brings joy and hope to children in desperate situation around the world through simple, gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love through Jesus Christ. This has been a service project of our children's ministry for many years, but is well embraced by the entire church. Mariners is happy to be a regional drop-off center during the national collection week. Visit our OCC
Foreign Service Projects/Trips: Each year we plan trips to various places to serve others. We have gone to locations like orphanages in Russia and Mexico, to impoverished communities in El Salvador. If you have interest in participating on a trip or being part of the development of one, contact the Connections Pastor for more information.
