Being on the Surf's Up Team is a great joy and really is a lot of fun. Check out some of the folks already serving in Surf's Up!
We are excited that you want to check out the Childrenīs Ministry at Mariners Church. This section will help to introduce you to the many opportunities available within our ministry. We want to help you find where you can use your God-given gifts to invest in the lives of children. Your first step to joining the Surf's Up Lifeguard team is to let me know of your interest..
If you know what area you would like to work in, call the Children's Ministry office to set up a time to meet with me and discuss your future in Surf's Up. Call 650.726.5959 or email me at len@marinerscc.org more information.
You donīt have to be an expert. Each member of our Surf's Up team has one thing in common: a passion for children. If you have a heart to love God and a desire to work with children, then you have the two basic ingredients necessary to become a lifeguard in childrenīs ministry. You do not need a degree in early childhood development or elementary education to be a great leader in Surf's Up. We will equip and train you for your ministry.
You do not need all the time in the world. You can successfully minister to children with a minimal time commitment. We have many ways that you can minister to children in a time frame that will work for you! During the weekend services, in just an hour and a half each week, you will be able to form relationships with children and their parents that will communicate love and value, not only from you, but also from God.
You will not be alone. You will be supported in your ministry through the Surf's Up staff and leadership team. You will not be a lone ranger in your ministry to children...guaranteed! As part of the equipping process I send out a weekly "Take Out Training" email and an eCouragement every month designed to help you and coach you in your role as a Surf's Up leader.
We look forward to getting to know you and to helping you find where God has shaped you to be. It will be exciting to watch God at work in you and through you as you minister to the children of Mariners.
