Children do not come to us with instruction manuals. And with all the variables life has for us, while rewarding, parenting can also be difficult. There is no shame in reaching out for help or instruction. In fact,
just the opposite is true. There is great wisdom in taking the most honored role you will ever have, that of parent, seriously enough to strengthen whatever areas you may need.
One of a parent's greatest honors and responsibilities is that of instilling godly values in your child's life. This does not come naturally for most of us and there are so many other life-events pulling at us and competing with this privilege. We at Mariner's don't claim to have all the answers, but we would like to help!
Surf's Up, the children's ministry of Mariner's Church would like to come alongside you in your effort. It is our desire to see your entire family become committed Christ-followers and if there is any way you see we can do a better job at assisting you as a parent, please let us know.
We have found various resources from parenting seminars to books to magazines to small groups so helpful in our parenting development and we hope you will too.
Following are some request we have of you as well as resources which may be helpful to your growth.
Help Us to Serve Your Family
Please share any suggestions you have for improving Surf's Up. We value your comments and suggestions. Our desire is to be a tool for you in raising godly children, so if the tool needs sharpeing, then let us know.
Checking In and Out of Surf's Up Services
When checking your child into the classroom be careful and accurate when signing the attendance book.
Also, when checking in for the first time, take care in filling out the information form. Besides the first and last name of your child, be sure to list any allergies that should be brought to the attention of the leaders in the classroom.
At the time of check-in, you will be given a number card. The number card you are given is recorded on the check-in log. If you are needed to return to your child's classroom, you will be contacted. We ask that you present the number card upon return to your child's classroom. We will verify that the number on the card matches the number next to your child's name on the roll sheet and then release your child to you. Please help us to maintain this level of security.

Bibles for Children
There are so many to choose from. Select one that is at your child's level of interest and regularly upgrade as they develop. The goal is to make the Bible enjoyable and a daily part of their lives. We have a supply of the "Hands-On Bible" which we recommend for Grades K-5 available for a reasonable price in the Children's Ministry Center lobby. There are many good Bibles, but we have selected this one for application activities.
